Terms of service
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Zula. We have kept them as plain as we can. Please read them; by using Zula or joining the waitlist, you agree to them.
The short version
- Zula is an assistant that keeps your records, reminds you and, when you ask, places orders for you. It is not a bank, a financial adviser or an accountant.
- Zula never moves your money. Any order is placed only after you confirm the items and total, and the order is between you and the app or seller.
- Zula uses AI and can get things wrong. Check what it shows you, especially before you rely on a number.
- Your data stays yours. You can delete everything at any time. See our Privacy policy.
- Be fair: don't misuse Zula, and only tell it about other people what you would note in your own diary.
1. Who we are
Zula is provided by GARVITECH Solutions Private Limited, a company registered in India with its registered office at Pottayath House, Meloor, Poolani, Chalakudy, Koovakkattukunnu, Mukundapuram, Thrissur, Kerala 680311 ("Zula", "we", "us"). "You" means the person using Zula or joining the waitlist on heyzula.com.
These terms work together with our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.
2. Who can use Zula
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
- You need a WhatsApp account on a phone number you own and control. One Zula account per number.
- If you use Zula for a business, you confirm you are allowed to act for that business.
- During early access, Zula is available by invitation, and we may limit who can join.
3. What Zula does
Zula is an assistant you talk to on WhatsApp. Depending on the features available to you, it can:
- keep a record of your spending, income, refunds, budgets, splits, and money lent or borrowed, based on what you tell it, forward to it or photograph for it;
- keep separate books for your business, if you use business mode;
- send you summaries, alerts, reminders, charts and reports;
- search for, build and, after your confirmation, place orders or reservations through apps you link, such as Swiggy, Zomato and Zepto.
Zula only helps with the things it is built for. It will tell you when you ask something outside that, rather than guess.
4. What Zula is not
- Not a bank or payment service. Zula does not hold, move or pay money for you, and cannot see your bank account.
- Not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Summaries, budgets and alerts are information to help you organise yourself. Decisions are yours. For advice, speak to a qualified professional.
- Not an accounting or tax system. Zula's records are not books of account, GST records or tax filings, and are not a substitute for them.
- Not a lender or collector. When you record a loan or an amount owed, Zula keeps the note and reminds you. It never contacts the other person, and a Zula record is not a legal agreement between you and them.
- Not an emergency service. Don't rely on Zula for anything urgent or safety-related.
5. AI can make mistakes
Zula uses AI to understand your messages, receipts and forwarded SMS. It can misread an amount, choose the wrong category or misunderstand what you meant.
- Zula shows back what it recorded. Please check it, and correct anything that's wrong; corrections are easy.
- Totals and balances are calculated from your records, so they are only as accurate as those records.
- Reminders and alerts are sent on a best-effort basis. Delivery can be delayed or fail, for example if WhatsApp is down. Don't rely on Zula alone for a deadline that matters, such as a bill, EMI or insurance renewal.
6. Linked apps and orders
- Linking an app is optional. You sign in on that app's own page and can unlink at any time by telling Zula or from within the app.
- Zula places an order only after showing you the items, price and total and getting your confirmation in the chat. Once you confirm, the order is placed and may not be cancellable.
- The order is a contract between you and the app or seller (for example Swiggy, Zomato or Zepto), on their terms. They are responsible for prices, availability, delivery, quality, cancellations, refunds and payment. Zula is not the seller.
- Prices, offers and availability come from the app and can change between the time Zula shows them and the time the order is placed. Any price comparison Zula gives is a snapshot, not a guarantee.
- Reorder suggestions, offers and spending insights are based on your order history and on what the app shares with us. They are suggestions only. Offers are set by the app and can change or end without notice, and Zula never places a suggested order without your confirmation.
- For a problem with an order, such as a missing item or a refund, contact the app. We are happy to help you find the order details.
- You must follow the terms of every app you link. If an app suspends access for Zula or for you, that feature may stop working.
7. Business mode
- Business mode helps you keep track of your business money: spending, income, dues from customers, money owed to suppliers, advances and deposits. It keeps these strictly separate from your personal records.
- It does not calculate tax, GST or profit for statutory purposes, and its reports are not audited accounts.
- If you record details about your customers, suppliers or staff, you are responsible for having a fair reason to keep that note.
8. Your responsibilities
- Give Zula accurate information, and check what it records.
- Keep your phone and WhatsApp account secure. Anything sent from your number is treated as coming from you.
- When you tell Zula about other people (a friend you lent money to, a customer), share only what you need, in the way you would note it in your own diary.
- Don't send Zula passwords, OTPs, card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, or Aadhaar or PAN numbers. Zula never needs them.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Zula for anything illegal, fraudulent or harmful, including money laundering, illegal lending or harassment;
- use Zula to track, pressure or threaten anyone;
- send spam or bulk messages, or automate messages to Zula;
- try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around Zula's limits or security, or manipulate it into acting against these terms;
- access another person's account or data;
- resell or offer Zula to others as your own service without our written permission.
We set fair-use limits (for example on the number of messages or orders per day) to keep the service reliable for everyone.
10. WhatsApp
Zula runs on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for WhatsApp outages, changes or restrictions. If WhatsApp limits or ends our access, we will try to keep you informed by email, and you can ask us for a copy of your records.
11. Early access, pricing and payment
- Zula is in early access. Features may be added, changed or removed as we learn what works, and some may be marked as trial features.
- Zula is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we will show the price, what is included and the billing period on our website before you pay, and you will never be charged without choosing a plan.
- Paid plans will be bought on our website through a licensed payment provider, not inside the chat. Prices will include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Paid plans renew only as described at purchase, and you can cancel renewal at any time. Our refund rules will be shown on the plan page before you buy. Rights you have under Indian consumer law are not affected.
12. Your content and our rights
- Your content is yours. Your messages, records, photos and notes belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide Zula to you, as described in our Privacy policy. We do not use them to train AI models.
- Zula is ours. The Zula name, logo, software, design and content are owned by GARVITECH Solutions Private Limited. You may use Zula for your own personal or business needs, but you may not copy, modify or redistribute it.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve Zula, without owing you anything.
13. Suspension and closing your account
- You can stop using Zula at any time. Type "delete everything" to close your account and erase your records.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is required to be closed by law or by WhatsApp. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to get a copy of your records.
- We may discontinue Zula or a feature. If we shut Zula down, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your records, and refund any unused prepaid period.
14. Disclaimers
We work hard to make Zula accurate and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that Zula will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose, or that its records, summaries, prices or reminders will always be complete or correct. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
15. Limits of our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, missed opportunities or a penalty for a late payment, arising from your use of Zula;
- we are not liable for the acts or failures of apps, sellers, WhatsApp or other third parties, including problems with an order;
- we are not liable for decisions you make based on information from Zula;
- our total liability to you for any claim about Zula is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000.
Nothing here limits our liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms, broke the law or misused Zula, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs we incur as a result.
17. Changes to Zula and these terms
We may update these terms as Zula grows. For a significant change, we will tell you in the chat or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Zula after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can close your account. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
18. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of India.
- If something goes wrong, please contact us first (see section 20). Most issues can be fixed quickly, and we will try to resolve any complaint within 30 days.
- If we can't resolve it, the courts at Thrissur, Kerala will have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
19. General
- These terms and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Zula.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business, with notice to you.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
